# Learning Data

High-fidelity implementations of Once can enable students to read at a mid-first- or second-grade level by the end of kindergarten.

Frequent collection and analysis of learning data is critical for Once to help districts implement the Once program successfully.

* Every day, we track each student's session attendance and their progress in that session. This data is available in real time to school and district administrators through the Once[Portal](/portal/portal-overview.md), and it lets us predict each student's expected end-of-year progress. It also guides us in giving feedback to schools on whether their Once instructors have sufficient time scheduled to provide the Once program.
* In a typical elementary classroom, a classroom teacher might spend up to one month three times per year administering oral-reading fluency assessments to each student. At Once, we measure that data weekly using our video recordings of instructional sessions. We can use this up-to-date information to make immediate changes to a student's course of instruction.
* The Once coaches also use the video recordings of instructional sessions to provide specific, targeted feedback to instructors every week to help them best teach their students and deliver the Once program effectively.
* Three times each year, we help schools and districts align their internal oral-reading fluency benchmark data to Once data to ensure that all students are learning to their potential.
