School Strategic Planning for Once Implementation
The Once program team meets with building leaders (school principal and point person) to discuss and plan for best practices for successful program implementation.
The objectives of the school planning meeting are to:
Learn about the school
Grade levels, classrooms, number of students, staffing models, class size
Learn about the principal and point person
Tenure in district and at the school
Priorities - how does Once fit in school goals
Decision making authority
Answer questions about Once
Design implementation
Agenda
School Mission & Expectations
Vision and Expectation of Schoo for Once Implementation
Goals of the school for program implementation - How does Once fit in the school vision and goals?
Decision-makers regarding the following (principal or point person):
Students - Addition or removal of students from the program during the year?
Once instructors identification? Who? Impact on current responsibilities when taking on the role of Once Instructor?
Master Schedule - Expectations for scheduling Once program within school schedule? Timing? Impact on student day (pulled from specific class)? Location for Once instruction?
Program logistics - Where will instruction be provided?
Communication Procedures
Implementation communciation with staff
Elevation of highlights as well as concerns
Planning for School-based Launch
Proposed Launch Date (may be set by district)
Note training should be scheduled as close to the launch date. It is essential to have the number of students assigned to each instruction by the start of training. Ideally, it is also best practice to have specific students names by the start of training.

With the Once team, the school principal and point person will review progress with the school's implementation plan, review implementation goals with current data, troubleshoot blockers to consistent Once instruction, and make any necessary changes to the implementation.
